Medication Technician

Concordia at the Orchard, a personal care facility, is seeking a Part Time Medication Technician for the Night shift. This role involves preparing, administering, and documenting medications under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse and/or Personal Care Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including eating and drinking, ambulating, transferring, toileting, bladder and bowel management, personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, turning and positioning
- Assist with administration of medications
- Complete all required documentation regarding medication administration
- Give treatments as prescribed
- Answer call bells and respond to resident needs promptly
- Communicate observations and findings to the Charge Nurse
- Document care, treatments provided, and other information as required by regulations and policies/procedures
- Collect urine and stool specimens
- Assist residents with obtaining and keeping clean, seasonal clothing, transporting to activities, changing linens, and keeping a safe, neat, clean room
- Prevent physical, psychological, and/or verbal abuse as well as financial exploitation of the residents
- Protect the resident from all abusive situations and immediately report any signs of abuse
- Employ healthy means for dealing with personal stress, which can be a trigger for abuse
- Prevent infections while providing care, including employing adequate hand-washing and adhering to all aspects of transmission-based precautions
- Maintain personal health to prevent transmission of infections

Requirements:
- Certification as a Medication Technician approved course through the Department of Human Services
- Ability to prepare and administer all medication in a timely fashion as deemed appropriate by the Department of Human Services
- Document administration of medications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred
- Must be caring, compassionate, and understanding
