Service Technician Job Description:
Martin Sales and Service, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fireplace Installer / Service Technician to deliver, install, troubleshoot & service wood, gas, pellet fireplaces/stoves while providing exceptional customer service in customers' homes, and all in-house service needs.
We are a team of dedicated professionals, looking to expand our team to include individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and excel on multitasking.
Our environment and day-to-day operations are dynamic and ever-changing.From our knowledgeable sales staff, to our trained installers, we pride ourselves on our customer service and knowledge of our product line.
No prior fireplace experience? No problem. We understand our work is unique and are here to guide you. Hands-on training is available for long-term positions. High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Valid state driver's license with a clean MVR. Team players at least 18 years of age. Able to work flexible hours / days. Construction / Carpentry Skills and Experience. Aware of basic Electrical Concepts & Skills. Troubleshooting experience with (DMM). Mechanically intuitive, able to see how things work. Good with tools and machinery. Able to lift heavy materials in excess of 80 lbs. Able to climb & secure ladders to protect company and customer assets. Able & confident to securely connect gas line fittings. Proficiently operate office equipment as required, such as computers, email & internet.
Competently able to convey ideas and facts orally and in writing using correct English vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and punctuation, composing clear, direct, concise, complete messages.

Competitive wages Scope:
Full-Time position compensated hourly, paid bi-weekly, with possible bonuses and incentives.
Carpentry skills are beneficial, & existing knowledge or experience in servicing furnaces or air conditioners is helpful but not required.
Technician must have no fears of ladders, heights, or working on pitched roofs. Technician will serve existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedule; investigating complaints; conducting tests; resolving problems. Technician will establish service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.Technician will maintain a good rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
Technician will keep tools and vehicles operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining records; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Technician will document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records, using proficient written English language. Technician will maintain customer confidence by keeping service information confidential. Technician will update his/her job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. Technician will accomplish daily operations and workplace mission by completing tasks as needed.Job Summary:
This job requires the Technician to set up appointments with customers and then visit their homes to service or repair their fireplace or stove which will include the following: Discuss heating-cooling system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that malfunctions have been corrected.
Generate work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction. Inspect and test system to verify system compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions. Reassemble and test equipment following repairs. Recommend, develop, and perform preventive and general maintenance procedures such as cleaning, equipment, oiling parts, and changing filters.Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.
Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.Other Helpful Skills / Qualifications:
