Position Overview:

The Healthcare Customer Service Specialist is responsible for managing and executing various tasks related to the daily operations of the clinic, including patient identification, check-in procedures, financial transactions, and basic appointment scheduling.

This role is essential in fostering a welcoming environment and ensuring that patient needs are effectively addressed.

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Previous experience in a customer-facing role, basic proficiency in computer applications, and familiarity with office equipment such as fax machines and copiers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Excellent communication abilities; maintains strict confidentiality; adept at multitasking; strong attention to detail; capable of prioritizing tasks and managing stress in a dynamic environment; open to change and able to make decisions in ambiguous situations.


Key Responsibilities:

Engages in a variety of essential tasks related to the daily clinic operations, including: patient identification, check-in/out processes, financial posting, cash handling, appointment scheduling, patient registration, and managing phone communications.

Proficient in utilizing telephone systems, accurately relaying messages to healthcare providers. Ensures that medical information from patients and referring providers is documented thoroughly and promptly. Distributes messages in accordance with established communication protocols.
Exemplifies professionalism and responsibility in all interactions.
Handles incoming patient care requests related to various activities, including referrals and phone inquiries.
Knowledgeable about insurance coverage policies and proficient in eligibility and benefits assessment.
Completes mandatory insurance training and participates in ongoing competency evaluations.
Capable of initiating and securing prior authorizations as necessary.
