Job Summary

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled DSP Modem Embedded Software Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our satellite broadband modem development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing embedded software for our satellite modem systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded software in assembly, C, and C++ for broadband satellite modem systems.
  • Write real-time critical software to augment and interact with hardware blocks such as FFT, correlator, codec, DPD, etc.
  • Write device drivers and system applications for satellite broadband link management.
  • Work closely with modem and hardware teams to support board bring-up, integration, and testing.

Requirements

  • MS degree in DSP, signal processing or related field OR Bachelors Degree with 2+ Years of DSP Modem experience or equivalent experience.
  • 5 + years of non-internship professional software development experience including code development methodologies, debugging, version control, and code maintenance.
  • 5+ years of experience with DSP modem development and test.
  • 3+ years of experience with wireless communications systems such as 3/4/5G, WIFI, or other OFDM systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with functional DSP modem blocks such as FEC, FFTs, filters, synchronization, digital pre-distortion, multiple access, equalization, AGC, ACM, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with RF HW and impairments
  • 2+ years with lab debugging tools and methods (emulation, signal tracing, spectrum analyzers, channel simulators, and logic analyzers)
  • Familiarity with ASIC design, verification, and bring-up
  • Familiarity with modem system simulation in Matlab or C/C+
  • PhD in DSP, signal processing, communications systems or similar

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
