About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrologist to join our team at Georgia Southern University. As a Hydrologist, you will play a critical role in water availability projects, utilizing your expertise to assess and model surface and groundwater systems of Southeast Georgia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure water quantity and characterize flow, volume, transport properties, and saltwater intrusion
  • Develop and implement surface and groundwater models to simulate, analyze, and predict aquifer or stream behavior
  • Predict water supplies and forecast floods and droughts
  • Contribute to the preparation of research proposals and technical reports
  • Analyze and interpret the results and prepare and present project findings to sponsors, regulatory agencies, and the public
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in water resource management projects
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A master's degree in hydrology or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in hydrogeology and modeling
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Doctoral degree in Hydrology or a related field
  • Experience in groundwater modeling and predictive modeling
  • Working knowledge of contaminant fate and transport modeling
