About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Radiologic Tech Assistant to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Radiologic Tech Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our imaging technologists, nurses, and radiologists in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist imaging technologists with daily activities, including escorting patients and providing care as needed.
  • Navigate computer systems to obtain necessary information and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor patients to ensure their safety and comfort during their stay in the imaging department.
  • Transport supplies, equipment, and instruments, as well as charts, records, x-rays, and reports.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in exam rooms and handle oxygen tanks, film development, and copying.
  • Advocate for team goals and objectives by promoting a balanced workload and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Adapt behavior to meet the specific needs of patients, including respect for privacy and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Radiology Technology program.
  • Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association within six months of employment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications and various software packages.
  • Knowledge of radiology procedures and technical language.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical and Environmental Demands

The physical demands of this role include heavy work, requiring the ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
