Position Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and detailing of heavy industrial systems.

Key Qualifications:
  • Experience in bulk material handling systems, including conveyors, screens, and related structures in the mining industry
  • Proficiency in structural and concrete design, 3D modeling, and software such as Advance Steel and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with mining or quarry infrastructure


Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and detailing of heavy industrial systems.
  • Coordinate the design and development of equipment for processing bulk materials and aggregates.
  • Create and detail custom stationary conveying systems and structures.
  • Conduct design analysis for conveyors and related structures.
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings.
  • Prepare comprehensive bills of materials.
  • Assess and implement design modifications.
  • Oversee drafters on project designs and ensure drawing accuracy.
  • Utilize analytic modeling tools, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Employ modern software tools, including ERP systems and 3D modeling software, to enhance efficiency.
  • Develop a robust understanding of related product sales and services.
  • Collaborate with shop personnel.


Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards, dimensioning, and tolerances.
  • Understanding of mechanical power relationships, including horsepower, torque, speed, and ratios.
  • Experience in shaft, bearing, and power transmission design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with material strengths and structural analysis.
  • Knowledge of ASD/LRFD steel design codes.
  • Expertise in mechanical engineering and machine design.
  • Experience with conveyor design and applications.
  • Familiarity with CEMA specifications and standards.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, forming, and stamping.
  • Proficiency in 2D or 3D CAD software, particularly AutoCAD, with Advanced Steel experience being a plus.
  • Competence in commonly used software packages, including MS Office.
