Key Responsibilities

  • Meet safety standards, production requirements, and maintain quality control and coordination of inventory and product mix levels.
  • Lead the safety, health, environmental programs, guidelines, and policies.
  • Develop and manage a team to create a safe and productive work environment.
  • Strategically develop cost goals, manage production and quality goals, and update forecasts.
  • Purchase or direct the purchase of supplies and equipment in accordance with Company Controllers and Purchasing policies.
  • Plan and schedule plant activities, including schedules, production, and training activities.
  • Coordinate with others to develop all aspects associated with the Mining Plan and support constant evaluation and review of mining and process functions.
  • Improve plant appearance and working conditions through reclamation, housekeeping, and workplace projects.
  • Ensure compliance with Company, Local, State, and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Implement and review ongoing contracts, purchase orders, appropriations, and expenditures requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (preferably Mining or Civil) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of plant management experience, preferably in the mining industry.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and a strong personal commitment to safety.
  • Solid understanding of aggregate processing and equipment.

Working Conditions

The Plant Manager will split their time between an air-conditioned office environment and outside assignments that may require work in various weather conditions. They may be exposed to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, and other substances.
