Chamberlain University is seeking a qualified individual to fill a Clinical Faculty position in Fundamentals. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in educating and empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession.
- Teach onsite in a clinical setting, with a schedule that typically includes 12-hour rotations (7a-7p) for three to four consecutive days.
- Assume responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching assignments.
- Plan clinical experiences for and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals.
- Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their level of performance based on course objectives.
- Be available for remediation of students as required or needed.
- Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of agency/clinical personnel.
- Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
- Grade homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.
- May teach didactic course content under the supervision of a course coordinator.
- Keep the course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
- Report to the dean or assistant dean, with a course coordinator providing direct oversight.
- A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- An unencumbered professional nursing license in the state of Oklahoma.
- An IL nursing license will be required before accepting any clinical contract for a given session.
- At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse.
- Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required.
- Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning.
- Exceptional subject matter expertise with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required to teach at certain clinical partner sites.
- Eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect, and care.
- Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students, and the broader community.
The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate's education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law.
