Walpole, Inc. is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Okeechobee, FL terminal. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle and equipment issues.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Selecting the appropriate course of action for repairs
  • Evaluating completed work prior to release, seeking supervisor approval where required
  • Removing, cleaning, repairing, reinstalling, and adjusting vehicle components
  • Diagnosing all phases of vehicle and equipment repair
  • Ensuring work orders are completed accurately
  • Performing road calls and emergency services as necessary
  • Actively participating in safety or educational training as required
  • Moving vehicles safely between job and work area
  • Communicating professionally with drivers, team members, and supervisors

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3 years of vehicle/equipment maintenance experience
  • Must have the appropriate toolset
  • ASE/EVT Certifications are preferred but not required
  • Valid driver's license (Class A CDL preferred but not required)
