Position Summary
As the Regional Sales Director, you will play a crucial role in assembling, nurturing, and mentoring a field team dedicated to the successful introduction of an innovative insulin delivery system and future offerings from Sequel. You will oversee all commercial field operations and strive to meet organizational objectives within your designated area.
Your team will include Territory Sales Managers responsible for product promotion and Clinical Diabetes Educators who will facilitate product training and education.
Collaboration with internal teams and sales leadership to synchronize field requirements with market trends will be essential in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a high-performance team culture that encourages empowerment and collaboration.
- Drive the successful implementation of the commercial launch strategy by providing clear sales guidance and impactful coaching.
- Support effective business planning, customer targeting, and account prioritization to align with national objectives and integrate regional goals.
- Equip the field team to engage in meaningful discussions by ensuring they possess a strong understanding of diabetes and insulin therapy.
- Contribute to the company’s success by consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and offering exceptional product training support.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance customer experiences with Sequel products and promote the company’s growth.
- Conduct regular field visits to provide timely coaching and feedback based on observations of customer interactions and overall team performance.
- Mentor team members on skill enhancement, including product knowledge, competitive insights, selling techniques, and compliance.
- Manage operational budgets with a focus on achieving favorable returns on investment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key healthcare professionals and influencers in the diabetes sector to promote product adoption.
- Ensure all field activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Over 8 years of field sales experience, with at least 5 years in relevant industry sales, particularly in diabetes, endocrinology, or insulin delivery systems.
- Proven track record of successfully leading a field sales team is preferred.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Experience in recruiting and developing team members.
- Proven ability to lead sales teams in launching and delivering products.
- Experience in formulating strategic business plans with specific, measurable objectives.
- Established relationships with endocrinologists are highly desirable.
- Previous recognition for outstanding sales performance (e.g., sales awards).
- Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of diabetes products and therapies.
- Candidates must reside within the assigned territory.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Capacity to thrive in a dynamic startup environment.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Ability to transport sales materials and literature as needed.
- Willingness to travel within the designated territory, including potential overnight trips, with a focus on market engagement.
