About the Role

Berry Global, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond to maintenance requests from the manufacturing floor, assessing the situation and determining the necessary level of maintenance.
  • Resolve maintenance issues and perform repairs as needed.
  • Operate maintenance room equipment according to procedure and maintain equipment in a production-ready and safe condition.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed, utilizing mechanical principles and electro-mechanical techniques.
  • Participate in cross-functional process improvement teams and contribute to daily team production meetings.
  • Follow work instructions and maintain a 5S environment in the work area.
  • Administer the equipment preventative maintenance program and participate in equipment optimization and cost control/reduction activities.
  • Assist maintenance staff to ensure all auxiliary equipment is in place and in working order.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must pass the Maintenance Tech Trainee Test.
  • Must possess a high degree of skill and a broad knowledge of mechanical principles and electro-mechanical techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, robotics, or other technical expertise, PLC's, and diversified long-term experience.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to utilize basic and advanced hand tools for a multitude of applications.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Computer experience is preferred.
  • Must take maintenance Ivy Tech courses (6-total) within 18 months of assuming the position.
