Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Respond to maintenance requests from the manufacturing floor, assessing the situation and determining the necessary level of maintenance.
- Resolve maintenance issues and perform repairs as needed.
- Operate maintenance room equipment according to procedure and maintain equipment in a production-ready and safe condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed, utilizing mechanical principles and electro-mechanical techniques.
- Participate in cross-functional process improvement teams and contribute to daily team production meetings.
- Follow work instructions and maintain a 5S environment in the work area.
- Administer the equipment preventative maintenance program and participate in equipment optimization and cost control/reduction activities.
- Assist maintenance staff to ensure all auxiliary equipment is in place and in working order.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must pass the Maintenance Tech Trainee Test.
- Must possess a high degree of skill and a broad knowledge of mechanical principles and electro-mechanical techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, robotics, or other technical expertise, PLC's, and diversified long-term experience.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to utilize basic and advanced hand tools for a multitude of applications.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
- Ability to read, write, and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Computer experience is preferred.
- Must take maintenance Ivy Tech courses (6-total) within 18 months of assuming the position.
