Position Overview
This role is a remote position based on the west coast. We are seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer who is eager to contribute to the growth of our organization. You will report directly to the Team Leader and be responsible for providing both remote and on-site support for pre and post-sales activities, utilizing strong hands-on and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer technical support to Lunaphore and its clients, ensuring proper operation of our systems.
- Troubleshoot issues and devise effective solutions.
- Install, maintain, and repair Lunaphore instruments, gaining a comprehensive understanding of both hardware and software components.
- Conduct basic staining assays for protocol testing (training will be provided).
- Collaborate with the technical team to enhance product performance.
- Identify customer challenges and relay feedback to improve service delivery.
- Maintain a results-driven approach by consistently meeting objectives and deadlines.
Travel Requirements
This position necessitates frequent travel, with up to 85% domestic overnight travel.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in field service engineering within life sciences research, diagnostics, or medical devices.
- Relevant qualifications in Microsystems, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, or Microscopy Optics.
- Hands-on experience with basic laboratory techniques is preferred.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and root cause analysis; IT support experience for software and hardware is advantageous.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including working with complex equipment in confined spaces.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written; additional language skills are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service and problem-solving.
- Capable of managing technical tasks independently and interpreting customer descriptions of technical issues.
- Adaptable to a dynamic work environment and able to collaborate effectively within a team.
