As a Licensed Vocational Nurse II at Kaiser Permanente's West LA Medical Center, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver nursing care in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care functions, including assessing and monitoring patients' conditions, notifying physicians or healthcare professionals for disposition, and preparing and administering medications as directed.
- Assist medical personnel with special procedures, minor surgical procedures, and diagnostic exams.
- Perform patient transportation, laboratory, and radiology requisitions, and specialized test forms.
- Monitor patient flow, assign, and direct other ancillary personnel as needed.
- Provide medical information and education to patients, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Document pertinent patient information, assessment, and nursing procedures following established protocols.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Minimum one (1) year of recent (within the last three (3) years) experience as a LVN in an acute/outpatient setting.
- Vocational Nurse License (California)
- Basic Life Support
- Message Management experience within the last 1 year
- Excellent customer service skills
This is an on-call position, with days and hours varying. You will be required to work every other weekend and holidays.
