Empress EMS is seeking a skilled Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of ambulances and other vehicles. Key responsibilities include inspecting vehicles for fluid levels, service hours, and damage, performing preventative maintenance and repairs, and ensuring proper safeguarding of tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a driver's license, and diesel mechanic certification. Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electric systems is preferred. The Fleet Diesel Mechanic will work independently with little supervision, diagnosing and troubleshooting service problems, and working during odd hours and for extended periods. The work environment is high-stress, with regular exposure to outside weather conditions, wet and humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, and moderate noise levels. The successful candidate will be able to maintain composure and tact in stressful situations, communicate effectively, and demonstrate compassion and dedication to employee needs.
