Banquet Captain Job Description

The Banquet Captain is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of all banquet functions. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with our sales and catering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and assist with the set-up and breakdown of banquet functions
  • Inspect the set-up of meeting and banquet functions to ensure they meet our high standards
  • Act as the liaison between our sales and catering teams and in-house meeting or banquet contacts
  • Respond to guests' problems and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist with the creation of banquet work schedules and completion of banquet wage progress reports

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • College coursework in a related field is helpful
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
