Responsibilities

We're seeking energetic individuals who are ready to join us in taking our restaurant to the next level. As a catering team member, your primary responsibility is to serve fresh and appetizing food that makes our guests return for more. This involves following established food safety standards set by the Virginia Department of Health and Chick-fil-A, in a clean and fast-paced environment.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Serving off-site at various locations on Mondays through Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Must be willing and able to operate a company vehicle in a responsible manner from the restaurant to off-site locations.
  • Loading and transporting food and other products needed for sales at off-site locations.
  • Assisting kitchen team members in food preparation. Food preparation includes, but is not limited to: operating equipment, toasting buns, assembling sandwiches, and other necessary items.
  • Following Chick-fil-A brand standards regarding food preparation, handling, and delivery.

  • Must feel comfortable handling cash and transporting cash and sales from the restaurant to off-site locations or vice versa.
  • Maintaining the interior and exterior of the restaurant and company vehicle, including cleaning and other cleaning tasks.
  • Candidates are also expected to be able to work on their feet for several hours at a time and lift potentially heavy objects when necessary. Prior experience is preferred but not required.
Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a valid VA driver's license
  • Participate in a background check (required for off-site locations)
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be available to work holidays and weekends (Saturdays)
  • Be able to lift up to 25 pounds or more
  • Be able to assist in food preparation at the restaurant for off-site service on Mondays through Saturdays
  • Be able to work independently and follow given instructions
  • Work well in a team and help maintain a safe and positive environment
  • Be comfortable working indoors and outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Understand basic food safety and comply with all corporate, unit, and state or federal policies
  • Be willing to assist in positions within the restaurant (BOH), in addition to the off-site sales role
  • Be able to obtain a food handler's card for the city of Portsmouth
  • Prior experience as a cashier or restaurant team member is not required but is preferred
