We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Superintendent to join our team at Granite Construction Incorporated. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing project supervision to a construction site or business unit, including supervising several level 1 Superintendents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program that meets or exceeds Granite's Annual Incident Goal, fostering a culture of safety and participation at all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental policies, rules, and regulations, mitigating the effects of operations on the environment.
  • Create and promote a quality culture that recognizes the impact of quality on all operations, providing a product or service that is a source of pride for our workers and pleasing to our customers.
  • Supervise the total construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule, and are staffed appropriately.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions, providing input on scheduling, engineering, and material control to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Supervise and direct field supervisors, superintendents, and other contractors to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
  • Interface with on-site work teams, including subcontractors, to resolve problems, ensure quality, safety, scheduling, and achieve schedules in support of overall project objectives.
  • Assist project management in developing and implementing project Work Plans and procedures, working documents, and standards to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Comply with, understand, and support corporate safety, quality, and environmental initiatives to ensure a compliant work environment.
  • Recruit and recommend qualified individuals to maintain high-performing teams.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • 8+ years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience in a similar field of construction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, and methods.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills.
  • Excellent management skills.
