EMCOR Group is seeking a highly skilled Director of Safety and Quality Control to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for creating a safe and healthy work environment, as well as facilitating and supporting our project quality control program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain our company's current Environmental, Health and Safety policies and implement new risk control measures as needed.
- Prepare and implement Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safety Work Plans (SWPs), and Construction Work Plans (CWPs).
- Act as a safety advisor to Project Managers and Superintendents on each project, providing technical support for all EHS requirements.
- Direct jobsite EHS activities as required by our company, OSHA, and industry standards.
- Identify, control, and eliminate hazardous site conditions that may lead to worker injury or property damage.
- Oversee and/or perform regular project walk-throughs and provide observations and corrective action reporting through our online project management application.
- Ensure subcontractor EHS policies, JHAs, and pre-installation safety requirements are met for trades prior to their on-site activity.
- Ensure that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed, and that OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
- Provide monthly reporting to our company's Management Team.
- Audit/Manage Corporate Safety Policy.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis of incidents and prepare and implement prevention plans.
- Oversee Fleet (Vehicle) Safety.
- Develop and oversee Quality assurance and quality control for company projects.
- Degree or Certification in safety management or relevant field is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional safety role; proven successful experience as a safety manager preferred.
- Associate/Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP) Preferred but not required.
- OSHA 500 certification preferred.
- Experience writing Health And Safety Plans (HASP's) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's).
- Deep understanding of occupational health and safety guidelines/regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, federal, state, and city environmental and safety regulations and practices.
- Ability to do public speaking, for safety training purposes.
- Must have a valid driver's license, in good standing.
- Experience in managing quality control program a plus.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Working knowledge of project document control software a plus.
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors, and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
