Job Summary

EMCOR Group is seeking a highly skilled Director of Safety and Quality Control to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for creating a safe and healthy work environment, as well as facilitating and supporting our project quality control program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain our company's current Environmental, Health and Safety policies and implement new risk control measures as needed.
  • Prepare and implement Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safety Work Plans (SWPs), and Construction Work Plans (CWPs).
  • Act as a safety advisor to Project Managers and Superintendents on each project, providing technical support for all EHS requirements.
  • Direct jobsite EHS activities as required by our company, OSHA, and industry standards.
  • Identify, control, and eliminate hazardous site conditions that may lead to worker injury or property damage.
  • Oversee and/or perform regular project walk-throughs and provide observations and corrective action reporting through our online project management application.
  • Ensure subcontractor EHS policies, JHAs, and pre-installation safety requirements are met for trades prior to their on-site activity.
  • Ensure that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed, and that OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met.
  • Provide monthly reporting to our company's Management Team.
  • Audit/Manage Corporate Safety Policy.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis of incidents and prepare and implement prevention plans.
  • Oversee Fleet (Vehicle) Safety.
  • Develop and oversee Quality assurance and quality control for company projects.
Requirements
  • Degree or Certification in safety management or relevant field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional safety role; proven successful experience as a safety manager preferred.
  • Associate/Certified Safety Professional (ASP/CSP) Preferred but not required.
  • OSHA 500 certification preferred.
  • Experience writing Health And Safety Plans (HASP's) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's).
  • Deep understanding of occupational health and safety guidelines/regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, federal, state, and city environmental and safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to do public speaking, for safety training purposes.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, in good standing.
  • Experience in managing quality control program a plus.
Preferred Skills
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Working knowledge of project document control software a plus.
Language Skills

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customer, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors, and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
