Job Responsibilities

As an HVAC O&M Controls Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of repairs and services in a specialized building system environment with a high emphasis on HVAC and Mechanical Systems. You will work with Building Automated Systems (BAS) and other related equipment and systems.

You will service the Bethesda, MD area and DCH. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Service, repair, maintain, monitor, and adjust HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters
  • Plan, select, and lay out required materials for service and repair work
  • Complete assigned Preventive Maintenance tasks
  • Use building prints, schematics, and other available documents while troubleshooting system failures and work requests
  • Manage subcontracted work to ensure proper notifications are sent, work is completed in accordance with designed scope of work, and ensures all safety requirements are met
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machines instrumental to building operations
  • Provide detailed information related to procurement group for new supplies and equipment
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and comply with all company policies
  • Required to participate in an on-call rotation schedule to attend to emergency situations at the facility
Requirements
  • 3-7 years of experience in a Facility Maintenance environment
  • Working and operating knowledge of Building Automated System (BMS), preferably Metasys and Tridium
  • In-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs requests
  • Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to climb ladders, operate machinery, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Preferred: Proven Electrical system working knowledge a PLUS, Completion of a two-year technical degree, Metasys and Tridium experience is a plus
