Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor II to join our team at DePelchin Children's Center. As a Mental Health Counselor II, you will provide a range of social work and therapeutic services to children and their families, enabling them to deal with problems identified.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for clients and families in the assigned area.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy per diagnostic assessment and individualized treatment plan.
  • Coordinate treatment with referral resources and other professionals.
  • Maintain client records and meet productivity expectations.
  • Deliver sessions in-person at the Family Resource Center, virtually, or home-based in Bexar County.
Requirements
  • Master's in social work or a related human services field.
  • Fully licensed as an LMSW, or provisionally licensed as an LPC-Associate, or LMFT-Associate.
  • Passed licensure examination to obtain LMSW, LMFT-Associate, or LPC-Associate.
  • Employment is contingent upon obtaining full/provisional licensure within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Entry-level with one year's experience.
  • One (1) year experience in case management, crisis intervention, or child welfare.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Ability to work flexible hours according to client needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate well to children and families in crisis.
  • Comfortable with complexity, advocacy, and mediation.
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good paperwork and organizational skills.
  • Ability to submit all documentation electronically and in office timely.
Work Conditions
  • Environment: Hybrid (Family Resource Center, homes, virtual).
  • Range of Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 8:00 pm.
  • Travel: Frequent, Bexar County - Reliable transportation and valid Texas Driver License required. Mileage reimbursed.
