Position Overview

This role involves working collaboratively with the Food Service team to prepare healthy and appealing meals for students and staff. The individual will ensure a clean kitchen and dining area while adhering to all Health Department regulations to foster a safe and healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Adhering to and understanding relevant District policies and procedures.
  2. Assisting in meal preparation, including planning, cutting, cooking, and assembling food items.
  3. Setting up serving lines and distributing food.
  4. Monitoring and measuring food temperatures accurately.
  5. Maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  6. Responding to changes in food production and completing additional tasks as required.
  7. Cleaning dishes and operating kitchen equipment while following sanitary guidelines.
  8. Properly setting up and storing food service equipment.
  9. Cleaning and sanitizing designated areas and equipment.
  10. Rotating and stocking food deliveries.
  11. Following all safety and sanitation protocols related to food handling.
  12. Upholding high standards of personal hygiene and grooming in accordance with sanitation codes and District policies.
  13. Managing student accounts, including processing lunch tickets and maintaining accurate records.
  14. Assisting in ensuring quality and portion control of meals served.
  15. Maintaining required certifications and training hours.
  16. Engaging courteously with students, staff, and parents, and addressing conflicts professionally.
  17. Demonstrating regular attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

Applicants must complete the online application process. A Food Handlers Card is required, and successful candidates will be reimbursed for the associated fee. A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory, along with fingerprinting upon a tentative job offer.
