As a Nursing Assistant/Unit Coordinator/Monitor Tech on our Stroke Unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordination: Effectively coordinate the activities of the nursing unit, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Clerical: Perform a variety of office, secretarial, and other related duties to support the unit, including managing documents, handling communications, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Patient Care: Provide routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring patient heart rates and rhythms, and responding to patient requests.
  • Inventory Control: Order, stock, and replenish unit supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner, participating in budget preparation and ensuring the unit remains within budget restraints.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication among visitors, employees, and physicians, relaying information as necessary and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and assisting patients, visitors, and employees in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Reporting/Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and timely records, including unit-specific reports and medical records.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; certification preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of computers and software programs, excellent organizational and communication skills, and knowledge of medical terminology and rhythm interpretation preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing unit or similar role.
