Job Overview
The Ohio State University is seeking a highly skilled Research Faculty member for the Vascular Surgery Division in the Department of Surgery. As a key contributor to our research team, you will be responsible for designing and conducting research studies, developing grant proposals, and publishing high-quality research papers.
About the Role
We are looking for an individual with a PhD or MD/PhD degree in a relevant field, preferably with postdoctoral research experience in basic science research. A proven track record of writing scientific reports and publishing in peer-reviewed journals is essential. Current active extramural grant funding, equivalent to NIH R01, is also required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct research studies, develop grant proposals, and obtain extramural funding.
- Write and publish research papers in high-quality scientific journals, present at national and international conferences, and establish a national and international scholarly reputation.
- Instruct and mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees, participate in departmental committees, and contribute to departmental initiatives.
Requirements
- PhD or MD/PhD degree in an applicable field.
- Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research.
- Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals.
- Current, active extramural grant funding (equivalent to NIH R01).
- Academic experience preferred.
- Qualify for academic appointment at Assistant, Associate, or Professor level, with salary commensurate with previous training and experience.
