Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is a leading healthcare provider in South Carolina, offering a range of medical services to patients across the state.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care in our outpatient clinics. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our clinics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interview patients, take vital signs, and record information in patient medical records
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient care and administrative tasks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred
  • Certification through the American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Health career Association (NHA) or MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Physical Requirements:

The Certified Medical Assistant must be able to perform the following physical demands:

  • Stand for long periods
  • Walk and move around the clinic
  • Use hands and fingers to perform tasks
  • See and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
