Mount Dora Veterinary Hospital is a reputable and innovative veterinary practice with a dynamic team of 5 doctors located in a charming area. We pride ourselves on delivering a wide range of services to ensure optimal health for our patients, including Preventative Care, Surgical Procedures, Urgent Care, Orthopedic Surgery, In-House Diagnostics, Digital Radiology, Cold Laser Therapy, and Advanced Ultrasound Technology.

We are excited to announce that we are expanding our facilities to include 5 new examination rooms in the near future. By the end of this year, our hospital will feature 10 examination rooms along with a state-of-the-art surgery and treatment suite, allowing us to accommodate additional veterinarians.

Located in a picturesque small town, our hospital offers a great quality of life with easy access to major commuting routes. The local school system is excellent, providing ample opportunities for families. Residents enjoy a variety of recreational activities, including visits to theme parks and nearby natural attractions.

Position Details

This is a full-time veterinarian position for an individual who is:

  • Compassionate and a strong team player
  • An effective communicator
  • Skilled in general veterinary medicine and surgical procedures
  • Experienced and interested in mentoring others
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • A current DEA License or the ability to obtain one upon hire
  • An active Veterinary State License
  • USDA Accreditation or the ability to obtain it upon hire
Working Conditions

Special Considerations:

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Comfortable handling various animal species.
  • Willingness to work beyond 40 hours per week when necessary.
  • Potential for special hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong reasoning and communication skills are essential.
  • Exposure to a moderately high noise level; ear protection is available.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity are required.
  • Exposure to a variety of animals and potential hazards is routine.
