As a Registered Dietitian at Regency Hospitals, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing medical nutrition therapies, working collaboratively with the medical staff, patients, families, and food service department to ensure the patients' nutrition care plans are implemented and departmental standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

* Performing nutritional assessments and re-assessments, identifying goals, recommending nutrition interventions, monitoring and evaluating patient progress.
* Developing and monitoring enteral and/or parenteral nutrition support regimens.
* Working closely with the Speech Therapy Department to assist with the progression of textured modified diets to ensure patient safety and optimize oral intake.
* Clarifying admission orders to ensure nutrition support, diet, and oral supplement orders are consistent with the facility's established nutrition support formulary and diet manual.
* Considering religious, cultural, and ethnic factors in development of nutrition care plans.
* Reviewing yearly updates and approving therapeutic diet manual annually. Educating clinical and food service staff on location of the Nutrition Care Manual. Maintaining hard copy of simplified diet manual for downtime.
* Keeping current with nutritional practices and theories. Maintaining current professional registration requirements (i.e., Professional Portfolio, self-development, and continuing education). Demonstrating interest in continuing education, academics, or specialized certification to further enhance professional skills.
* Evaluating potential food/drug interactions, and/or herb/supplement interactions.
* Attending interdisciplinary team meetings and communicating progress and special needs.
* Participating in developing, planning, and standardizing menus.
* Performing meal rounds to ensure patients' meal trays are consistent with the prescribed diet and meet standards as to quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree with major studies in Food and Nutrition related field.
* Current state licensure/certification, if required by state.
* Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
* One (1) year of work experience in a facility setting with clinical responsibilities or equivalent.
