Senior Accountant Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing internal control duties, recording journal entries, and ensuring the month-end close process is completed accurately and within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enter journal entries, including accruals, to properly record business transactions.
  • Prepare detailed expense schedules for P&L accounts and complete monthly account reconciliations for Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Prepare Bruder Healthcare financials and submit for review as part of the month-end process.
  • Support local management and the Divisional Controller with weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Ensure revenue recognition is done correctly, all invoices are billed in the period, customer and third-party websites billing is correct, and payments are accurately applied.
  • Enter vendor invoices with proper approvals, maintain vendor relationships, ensure payments are made timely, create and submit payment runs weekly, and maintain and publish the AP Aging weekly.
  • Reconcile the bank account daily and submit reporting to Corporate.
  • Manage and review Concur spending for the facility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with 3-4 years of experience in a General Ledger Accountant position.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts such as account reconciliations, amortization, and accruals.
  • Ability to track transactions through the system.
  • Capable of using multiple information systems and reconciling information between them.
  • Experience with actual versus forecast reporting and how to explain variances.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, preferably M3, Concur, and Planful.
  • Intermediate MS Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
