Position Summary

The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions and guest accounts during the overnight shift. This position involves reconciling all revenue and expense activities that occurred throughout the day, preparing management reports promptly, and verifying the correctness of guest billing.

In addition, the Night Auditor is responsible for addressing any concerns or issues with management and performing guest service duties as needed, which includes check-in, check-out, managing the switchboard, and handling reservations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the lobby and equipment.
  • Input and modify reservation details in the hotel management system.
  • Post charges accurately to guest accounts.
  • Investigate discrepancies and make necessary adjustments.
  • Complete various audit reports using computer systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and hospitality at all times.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints effectively, seeking management assistance when necessary.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
  • Adhere to training protocols, exercising sound judgment and common sense.
  • Perform closing duties, balance cash drawers, and correct guest account discrepancies.

Uphold high standards of personal grooming and appearance, including proper uniform and identification.


  • Deliver gracious hospitality to all guests.
  • Foster a positive and productive work atmosphere with all associates and departments.
  • Consistently represent the hotel and brand in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Report any situations that may pose a risk to employees or guests.
  • Follow safety and security protocols and utilize equipment responsibly.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding business matters at all times.

Qualifications

Experience and Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in auditing and guest services is preferred. Proficiency in computer systems is essential.
