As a key member of our Nephrology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff to provide comprehensive outpatient clinic services.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize evidence-based medical practices to deliver patient care, adapting to the specific needs of each patient population.
- Develop and implement effective patient education plans, ensuring patients and their families are well-informed and empowered to manage their health.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and promote a culture of excellence in patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Nephrology, incorporating new knowledge and best practices into your patient care and education efforts.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with Ochsner Health's mission and values.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing or a related field for Nurse Practitioners, or a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences for Physician Assistants.
- Current licensure and certification in good standing, including Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Eligibility for Prescriptive Authority in the state of practice, as outlined by the State Board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of related experience in Nephrology or a related field.
- Proficiency in Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to the role, and keyboard skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
