Job Title: Occupational Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a 12-week contract basis.

Job Description:

As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of licensed Occupational Therapists to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals.

You will conduct therapeutic activities and exercises to improve clients' motor skills, dexterity, coordination, and independence for daily living skills. Additionally, you will monitor and document clients' progress toward goals, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.

Educating clients and their families on therapeutic techniques and exercises for continued progress outside of therapy sessions is also a crucial aspect of this role. You will collaborate with the Occupational Therapist and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans
  2. Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises to improve clients' motor skills
  3. Monitor and document clients' progress toward goals
  4. Educate clients and their families on therapeutic techniques
  5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
  • State licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.
