The Global Markets division provides sales and trading services, including research, to institutional clients across various sectors such as fixed-income, credit, currency, commodities, and equities. Our product offerings include both securities and derivative products in primary and secondary markets.

Program Overview

The Summer Associate Program features extensive training and assignments within a designated team in Global Markets. Following rigorous training, participants will be placed in either fixed income or equity markets, gaining exposure to various functions including sales, trading, origination, and quantitative analysis. As a summer associate, you will concentrate on a specific product area within the broader group.

Job Responsibilities

As a summer associate, your tasks may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing daily transaction requirements, including reconciliation and clearing services.
  • Educating clients on intricate structures and technical products.
  • Contributing to the development of new products and their market introduction.
  • Conducting quantitative analysis of market trends and trading strategies.
  • Performing numerical analysis on existing models and implementing performance enhancements.
  • Supporting sales, trading, and hedging operations.
  • Assisting in the origination, structuring, and modeling of transactions.
  • Evaluating market trends and providing quantitative insights for clients.
  • Conducting market and quantitative research analysis.
  • Assisting in the structuring, pricing, and execution of trades.
  • Researching and modeling complex products and trends, including hedges and alpha strategies using extensive financial data sets.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Master's degree from an accredited institution, with a graduation timeframe in a relevant field such as Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2.5 years of prior work experience is required.
  • A GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills are essential.
  • Experience in managing and analyzing large datasets using modern data science tools is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, particularly in Python or R, along with familiarity with common data analysis libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, PyTorch, and fastai is required for certain rotations.
  • Prior experience with options and/or volatility products or exposure to a trading environment is beneficial.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to inquiries.
  • Capability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
  • Able to devise complex solutions across multiple product platforms with a thorough and proactive mindset.
  • A strong interest in global financial markets and intricate structures.
  • Adaptability to a constantly evolving environment.
  • A proven track record of excellence in extracurricular and professional endeavors.
