JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President of Ambulatory Services, Safety & Accreditation is responsible for overseeing operational, safety, and accreditation activities within specialty and primary care clinics. This position emphasizes continuous improvement, learning, and alignment with organizational objectives while managing the accreditation survey process. The Vice President will design workflows and procedures aimed at minimizing risks to patients and staff, collaborating with clinical and administrative leaders to improve efficiency, safety, and patient care through innovative solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership:
- Formulate and execute scalable strategic initiatives to achieve outstanding clinical quality outcomes for ambulatory practices, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and vision.
- Establish and oversee comprehensive safety programs and infrastructure to promote clinician and staff engagement and quality initiatives across all care settings and service lines. Facilitate the DHIP Quality and Safety Committee meetings, including setting agendas and membership.
Clinical Practice Support and Oversight:
- Provide guidance on establishing clinical practice standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, and supporting quality patient care while collaborating with medical leadership, clinical directors, operations, human resources, and finance to ensure safe and effective operations within the ambulatory enterprise.
- Enhance clinic workflows, staffing, and resource utilization to improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction while upholding high quality and safety standards.
- Work closely with clinical department leadership to address needs and effectively manage issues.
- Collaborate with clinical education, nursing, and other departments to foster evidence-based practices, professional development, and clinical education.
Safety and Accreditation:
- Initiate and manage the development of a comprehensive safety enhancement program that includes performance improvement, risk assessment, policy and procedure development, and other quality and safety objectives to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead safety initiatives to meet performance benchmarks and accreditation criteria, including those set by the Joint Commission and National Patient Safety Goals.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies and oversee incident reporting systems.
- Provide leadership to ensure clinical services are delivered in accordance with quality and safety standards established by federal and state regulatory agencies and the Joint Commission accreditation standards, including National Patient Safety Goals.
- Oversee the accreditation readiness program, which encompasses infection prevention, radiation and laser safety, patient safety, laboratory, and other ancillary support groups in collaboration with system partners and relevant departments.
- Manage the SRS system, evaluating and investigating all RCA, FMEA, LFD's, and other organizational risks to ensure peer protection in partnership with Risk Management and appropriate clinical leadership.
Technology and Innovation:
- Support initiatives aimed at improving productivity, adopting new technologies, and implementing innovative approaches to enhance care delivery models and safety reporting.
- Oversee the Incident Reporting (RL-6) structure and system updates, including monitoring and implementing programs to enhance safety based on clinic trend data from RL-6.
- Manage the Clinic Profiles system to ensure regulatory documentation is maintained and that clinic leaders are compliant with updating requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's degree in business or a healthcare-related field is required, along with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- A master's degree in a business or healthcare-related field is highly preferred.
- At least eight years of progressive management experience in a healthcare setting is required.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A solid clinical background with the capability to analyze large volumes of data and translate findings into actionable plans.
- A comprehensive understanding of physician practice management, including quality, patient satisfaction, human resource management, and financial aspects.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position operates on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday obligations.
