About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to join our team at Cannon in Irvine. As a Civil Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in preparing plans and specifications for various engineering projects, including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and prepare drawings for grading, street improvements, storm drains, and sanitary sewer and water lines.
  • Perform calculations for basic earthwork, drainage, and grading and/or structural analysis.
  • Coordinate with representatives of agencies, utility companies, vendors, material suppliers, and contractors to obtain information and guidance.
  • Provide field observation and reports.
  • Update the project manager on the progress of work and inform them of problems and questions.
  • Work closely with team members to gain understanding of project requirements and tasks as well as office procedures, policies, and guidelines.
  • Comply with company drawing preparation standards.
  • Prepare opinions of probable cost of construction in company standard format.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D highly desirable.
  • Typically has between 0 and 3 years of experience.
