The successful candidate will lead our mechanical healthcare design team, providing high-level direction to senior mechanical engineering staff. This role involves collaborating with other disciplines to deliver full-range services to clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction to the mechanical discipline managers to ensure successful intra-office operations.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in leading the MEPS Service Lines mechanical community of practice to ensure successful inter-office operations.
  • Ensure mechanical discipline managers apply and comply with corporate quality management processes and procedures.
  • Provide technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.
  • Lead the development of office mechanical standards and coordinate those standards through the Chief Engineer across offices.
  • Engineer of Record on select projects as needed.
  • Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with client/project managers and department managers within an office to resolve mechanical engineering conflicts.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineers license. Existing licensure in NC and/or VA is preferred.
  • 25+ years of technical experience in the design of healthcare systems.
  • Proven track record of directly managing a technical team.
  • Self-motivated and well organized.
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
