Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Mental Health Technician

Zepf Center, a leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio, is seeking a full-time Mental Health Technician to join our Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) team.

Job Summary

The CSU Mental Health Technician will work collaboratively with our mental health professionals to provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals in need. This role requires a strong understanding of mental health principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to gather collateral data and provide crisis intervention services.
  • Provide outreach services, including crisis intervention and pre-hospital screening.
  • Work with patients' primary psychiatrists, case managers, and counselors to facilitate care.
  • Document services and maintain accurate records.
  • Answer the hotline, gather collateral information, and provide referrals to community services.
  • Run the intake board and coordinate outreach runs between emergency services, outreach, CACSU, CSU, and Helpline.
  • Transport clients to and from community sites as needed.
  • Attend agency and unit meetings, complete reports, and perform all necessary chart and telephone documentation.
Requirements
  • Eligibility to be a qualified mental health specialist by Ohio Medicaid.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or at least three years' work experience in mental health.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and eligibility to drive company vehicles.
