At Actalent, we are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and handling decontamination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens
• Record maintenance data and handle decontamination
• Update patient information and collect/store specimens according to established procedures
• Explain the process of venipuncture blood drawing and other specimen collection in a clear and courteous manner
• Demonstrate techniques using straight and/or butterfly needles, fully understand all physicians' orders, and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by the test order
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% correctness and package specimens for transport
• Properly store specimen samples according to required temperature and follow specific procedures for transport to maintain specimen integrity
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, attend annual department trainings, and answer telephone inquiries by reading laboratory results
