Job Title: Substation Design Engineer

Electrical Consultants, Inc. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Substation Design Engineer to join our team in Mankato, MN. The successful candidate will be responsible for the conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed design of new, upgraded, and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction, and commissioning/startup support through energization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits, and specifications.
  • Assist in the execution of best-in-class projects, including coordination, quality control, and oversight of designers, drafters, and support staff.
  • Coordinate with ECI's subject matter expert discipline groups, such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), and Transmission & Distribution Engineering.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required, design engineering experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
