About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiographer to join our team at The University of Virginia. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing echocardiography studies, TEES, and Stress ECHOs, while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform echocardiography studies, TEES, and Stress ECHOs, recognizing, calculating, interpreting, and analyzing hemodynamic data.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department, explaining procedures and post-procedure orders to patients.
  • Prioritize workflow based on patient condition, ensuring timely arrival and departure.
  • Provide a conducive atmosphere for patient cooperation and confidence, utilizing data from patient satisfaction and practice performance results to identify opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
  • 2-year Associate's Degree in Echocardiography or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of Echocardiography experience preferred, with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification required.
  • New graduates must be registered within 12 months of hire, with ability to complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
Working Conditions

The job requires constant sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping, with frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are required, along with attention to detail and ability to write legibly.

This is a medium to heavy physical demand job, with occasional lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. and use of Safe Handling Equipment.
