Job Summary

  • Design and develop fire protection/safety systems using AutoCAD equipment and software.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to prepare project fire alarm design specifications.
  • Produce code-compliant fire detection and alarm system design drawings and submittal packages.
  • Develop and maintain an updated library of symbols and drawings for future projects.
  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Use computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop, design, draw, and engineer fire protection/safety systems based on code requirements.
  • Ensure all projects have the necessary base files attached and graphic information is arranged in the proper order.
  • Check drawings for required information before delivering to the department manager for review and sign-off.


Requirements

  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems certification (level 2) is required.
  • Minimum of two years of fire alarm experience is required.
  • Knowledge of IFC, NFPA, and NEC codes is required.
  • Motivated and willing to learn, able to take classes on product training.
  • Able to perform site visits to survey and create drawings.
  • Must be able to follow company file management requirements.
  • Competent in originating and corresponding by email.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
