Evening Warehouse Supervisor - Abingdon

Position Overview:

Blue Ridge Beverage Company, Inc., a prominent beverage distribution firm in Central and Southwest Virginia, is in search of a dedicated Evening Warehouse Supervisor for our Abingdon division. This role involves reporting to the Night Warehouse Manager and collaborating with the night crew to oversee order picking, verification, and loading processes during the second shift.

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Wage Range: $19.50

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient picking, staging, and loading of all customer orders onto the designated delivery vehicles.
  • Maintain the safety and security of warehouse operations by adhering to established protocols.
  • Oversee the movement and staging of Class A, B, and C delivery vehicles.
  • Perform all duties associated with the second shift and provide support as needed.
  • Facilitate workflow by planning, coaching, and directing team members while monitoring and measuring outcomes.

Essential Duties:

  • Execute second shift responsibilities and assist as required. Accurately pick orders and verify product types and quantities using a computerized route accounting system.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and offer assistance to team members regarding warehouse operations, serving as the primary resource for second shift activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Stable work history.
  • Ability to effectively lead and collaborate with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Experience with automated warehouse management systems (WMS) is preferred.
  • Certification in operating power equipment, including forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Detail-oriented with sound judgment and self-confidence.
  • Physical capability to repetitively lift weights ranging from 15 to 40 pounds, and occasionally up to 135 pounds when handling kegs.
  • Ability to bend, lift, carry, climb, stoop, and stack products using a forklift or walkie rider.
  • Willingness to work in varying temperatures, as tasks may involve working in coolers, controlled temperature warehouses, or outdoors.
