We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF). As a Psychiatric Social Worker, you will play a vital role in providing supportive services to patients in our Geropsychiatric Unit.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychosocial assessments, care planning, and implementation, as well as resource development, supportive counseling, and referral to other service providers. You will work closely with patients and their families to provide orientation, guidance, and therapeutic services to assist them in coping with psychiatric hospitalization.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Provide supportive counseling and guidance to patients and their families
  • Develop and implement resource plans to ensure patients have access to necessary services and support
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
  • Document patient progress and outcomes
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school of Social Work
  • Professional license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners (LCSW)
  • Minimum five years of experience as a Psychiatric Social Worker, preferably working with geriatric patients in a psychiatric institution
  • Ability to work on site in the Behavioral Health Unit on the MPTF Wasserman campus
