Responsibilities:


Under the supervision of licensed clinical personnel, the Patient Care Technician 1 (PCT1) delivers essential patient care and administrative support following established procedures and standards aligned with the unit's objectives and the philosophy of Community Medical Centers (CMC).

Engages in and assists with fundamental aspects of patient care, including nutrition, bed scale measurements, intake/output (I/O), and monitoring vital signs, in collaboration with the patient care team.

Provides assistance to licensed clinical staff as required with direct patient care and offers administrative and office management support to the unit(s). Acts as a central point for administration, information, and communication.

Qualifications:
Education

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate is required
  • Successful completion of one of the following is required: obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, obtain a diploma/certificate from an accredited Paramedic program, or complete Nursing Fundamental courses from an accredited clinical RN or LVN program (typically completed in the first semester)
1 year of experience in an acute care hospital is preferred BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) is requiredOne of the following is required:
  • CNA - State of California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (active or inactive status is acceptable)
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable)
  • AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable)
  • PARAMEDIC - Paramedic Certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (active or inactive status is acceptable)
  • RN or LVN Student/Graduate
