Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Law Attorney to join our team at Katie L. Lewis, P.C. Family Law. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional legal representation to our clients in all areas of family law.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Case Management: Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed.
  • Client File Management: Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current.
  • Client Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action.
  • Court Representation: Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process.

This position will be responsible for managing full case-handling responsibilities from inception through resolution, including:

  • Independently handling decision-making on a case-by-case basis.
  • Developing a strategic approach and providing leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Working as part of a team with all levels of experience and being open to cross-training for coverage outside the associate duties.
  • Cultivating relationships with the firm's existing and future clients.
  • Analyzing case-specific legal issues and documentation.
  • Fostering and maintaining an excellent rapport with clients through consistent communication and thorough advisement.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues is required.
  • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations.
  • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants.
  • Bachelor's degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
