Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Family Law Attorney to join our team at Katie L. Lewis, P.C. Family Law. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for representing clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, alimony, child support, and child custody.

The ideal candidate will have experience with sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, domestic violence, and prenuptial agreements. You will be expected to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively in emotional and high-stress situations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Handling the division of marital assets during divorce proceedings
  • Organizing and maintaining client files
  • Advocating on behalf of clients by understanding their needs and forming a strategy for a plan of action
  • Attending court proceedings as needed to represent clients
  • Communicating with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process

This position will be responsible for important work, including:

  • Managing full case-handling responsibilities from inception through resolution
  • Independently handling decision-making on a case-by-case basis
  • Developing a strategic approach and providing leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants
  • Cultivating relationships with the firm's existing and future clients
  • Analyzing case-specific legal issues and documentation
  • Fostering and maintaining an excellent rapport with clients through consistent communication and thorough advisement

Qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in family law and real estate issues
  • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
  • Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants
  • Bachelor's degree with a legal background and J.D. degree
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
