Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance (PM) on conveyor systems.
  • Conduct PM on Fire Suppression Systems.
  • Perform routine inspections on machinery and report necessary repairs to management.
  • Provide emergency and backup maintenance support for sorting and conveyor systems.
  • Conduct routine welding on internal machinery and work surfaces as required.
  • Assist senior maintenance technicians with advanced repairs as necessary.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and within designated timeframes.
  • Gather estimates for supplies and repair components, and complete order requisitions.
  • Manage and maintain inventory levels essential for building, conveyor, and equipment repairs.
  • Repair electrical systems and control circuits; replace defective electrical switches; service refrigeration units.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests as needed.
  • Perform external custodial tasks, including snow removal.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and policies.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance logs for building equipment, ensuring accurate records of scheduled procedures.
  • Identify, document, and communicate maintenance requirements during all assigned shifts to team leaders or management.
  • Evaluate and sign out various equipment prior to use.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization within the office and maintenance workshop.

Qualifications

  • The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position.
  • High School Diploma or GED; or five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience or training in maintenance or warehousing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of hands-on experience in machine maintenance, specifically with conveyors, electrical systems, motor controls, plumbing, mechanical assemblies, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the associate is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and crouch; utilize hands for handling or feeling; and reach, talk, and hear.
