Aquatic Safety Specialist

Utah State University is seeking a highly skilled Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our pool operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our students, faculty, and staff while using our aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor activities in all areas associated with the HPER Pools and enforce pool rules and regulations
• Provide positive customer service and general information on pool operations and other campus recreation programs
• Attend all training and perform required skills to the standard
• Examine injured persons and administer first-aid or CPR, if necessary, using the proper medical supplies, equipment, and training
• Maintain a safe aquatic environment by encouraging proper use of equipment by the general public and upkeep of emergency equipment
• Inspect facility and pool for cleanliness; perform general pool cleaning and maintenance when required
• Complete and maintain pool records including potential safety hazards, medical treatments performed, and all relevant incident information

Requirements:

• Excellent swimming skills and physical conditioning
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations
• Knowledge of pool equipment and maintenance
• USU students preferred
