Business Planning Analyst III

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Planning Analyst III to join our National Finance & Administration Services department at Aldi Inc. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping us manage our critical resources and infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of our retail divisions and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain monthly profit & loss forecasts and annual budgets for divisional vice presidents and corporate cost center owners.
  • Review and understand local business impacts, communicating the consolidated business story to senior leadership.
  • Identify and maintain forecast processes and models for a rapidly changing business, understanding business challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Partner directly with divisional and corporate leadership to translate financial information to non-financial users and support strategic recommendations.
  • Understand and apply macro and micro-economic and other market impacts to business development, communicating with management appropriately.
  • Review financial results, researching variances to forecast and budget, identifying exceptions, inconsistencies, and actionable opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate and complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to support leadership, Board meetings, and decision-making at the US and global levels.
  • Evaluate financial projections to forecast short and long-term operational liquidity needs, making short-term investment decisions and recommending debt issuance, repayment, and restructuring decisions to senior leadership.
  • Complete ad hoc data analysis, projects, and financial models as needed by the business.
  • Assist leadership with rollouts of large-scale projects, including the annual budget and target-setting processes.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Analyze working procedures to identify and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information to direct leader.
  • Uphold the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
  • Proficiency with SAP/Analysis For Office preferred.
  • Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
