Telephonic Triage Nurse

h3Job Description/h3pThe Telephonic Triage Nurse position at CorVel Healthcare Corporation is a remote role that requires a Registered Nurse to provide telephonic first aid to injured workers on a case-by-case basis using nationally recognized standards of care to facilitate treatment goals./ppThis is a full-time role that requires the nurse to work 4 shifts: Days, Nights, Evenings, and Weekends, assigned to one shift./ppThe nurse will be responsible for:/pulliProviding telephonic assessment and making treatment recommendations of injured workers using national telephonic triage protocols./liliRecommending appropriate providers based on state law and employer's preferred provider network requirements./liliEducating callers on self-care instructions based on national telephonic triage protocols./liliCommunicating plans of care to customer contacts and/or supervisors./liliEvaluating injured workers' responses to first aid recommendations within a specified timeframe./liliDocumenting clinical assessments in an organized, concise format and submitting written reports within a specified timeframe./liliBecoming and remaining licensed as a Registered Nurse in 50 states and the District of Columbia./liliAdditional duties as required./li/ulpThe ideal candidate will have:/pulliFundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of triage in the field of Workers' Compensation (WC)./liliAbility to problem-solve rapidly, multitask, and handle medical emergencies over the phone./liliAbility to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas across multiple platforms./liliAbility to skillfully manage multiple, complex projects and competing priorities concurrently while working under pressure to meet deadlines and maintaining strong customer service orientation./liliComputer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office, including Excel spreadsheets./liliStrong interpersonal, time management, and written communication skills./liliGreat attention to detail and results-focused./li/ulpRequirements:/pulliGraduate of an accredited school of nursing with a diploma/Associates degree (Bachelor of Science degree or Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)./liliCurrent RN licensure in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state./lili3 or more years of clinical experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, emergency room, home health care (Telephone triage/Workers' Compensation experience preferred)./li/ulpCorVel uses a market-based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time./ppFor leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during the interview process, taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
