This role is situated within the Environmental Management Services Division of a medical facility dedicated to serving veterans. Under the direct oversight of the Housekeeping Supervisor or their delegate, the individual will be responsible for executing a comprehensive range of cleaning and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
The Custodial Operations Associate will:
- Perform a variety of janitorial and custodial duties across both patient and non-patient care areas.
- Be assigned to various shifts and may need to work in different designated locations during their duty hours.
- Conduct floor maintenance, including washing walls, cleaning doors, and maintaining stairwells.
- Utilize cleaning techniques such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming to ensure cleanliness.
- Handle waste management, including the removal of trash and recycling, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain restrooms and shower facilities to meet hygiene standards, ensuring thorough cleaning and replenishment of supplies.
Work Environment
The position involves continuous movement, including walking, standing, and lifting. The work is primarily conducted indoors, with some outdoor tasks possible, depending on the facility's needs. Personal protective equipment may be required in certain situations to ensure safety.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the role. Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial services is preferred but not mandatory.
